All newcomers to the SRRC will be required to attend
a practice night, riding clinic, or a private lesson from a licensed club
member prior to being allowed to compete.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
- DOT OR SNELL APPROVED FULL FACE HELMET
- LEATHER GLOVES
- LEATHER BOOTS
- ONE PIECE OR TWO PIECE ZIP-TOGETHER LEATHERS
- SAFE OPERATING MOTORCYCLE (SUBJECT TO TECHNICAL INSPECTION)
BASIC RULES:
- All members and racing personnel, including mechanics, paddock (staging
area)
personnel, and sponsors are to be fully aware of all rules and will be
expected to abide by
them.
- Rule supplements, additions or corrections shall be announced prior
to or at the next
scheduled race and will be enforceable at that race.
FLAG RULES AND STARTS:
- There shall be a meeting with all flag-persons prior to the start of
a race to ensure
complete understanding concerning the use of flags and lights. Any competitor
who
disobeys the flags or lights will be subject to penalty or disqualification.
- GREEN FLAG = start race
- STEADY YELLOW FLAG (held open with both hands)= continue racing with
caution
(hazard on course) possible fluid spillage, parts on track or rider off
track.
- WAVING YELLOW FLAG = slow down, do not pass. Rider down but unhurt,
and may be
trying to re-enter race.
- RED FLAG = stop racing immediately. Proceed to starting line with extreme
caution (if
possible). Red flag will be used if, in the opinion of the race director,
starter, or corner
marshal that: 1) the track is unsafe to continue racing on, or 2) a rider
is injured and
requires medical attention.
- WHITE FLAG = tower only – displayed as you are starting your last
lap.
- CHECKERED FLAG = tower only - displayed as you cross the finish line
on the last lap.
(race is over).
- BLACK FLAG = leave course immediately and report to race director. (rider
misconduct
or equipment problem).
- ROLLED UP BLACK FLAG = warning, but continue racing.
- Riding for more than 2 laps after being black flagged will result in
the loss of laps.
LIGHTS:
- GREEN = racetrack clear for racing.
- YELLOW = slow down, no passing full course.
- RED = stop racing, proceed to start line if safe to do so. Do not leave
track.
- Racing/passing under a yellow flag or light will result in disqualification.
- Racing/passing under a red flag or light will result in disqualification
and verbal
warning.
RACE START PROCEDURE:
- When race director announces, racers will go to pre-grid staging area.
- When the track is clear and starter and corner marshals are in place,
the race director or
another official will signal for the racers to start their warm up laps.
The green lights will
be on during warm up laps.
- When warm up laps are complete, the red lights will be turned on. All
riders will stop at
the starting grid.
- Any rider trying to get in extra warm up laps will be penalized one
lap from the finishing
results.
- Any rider who has not yet entered the track when the warm up laps are
complete and the
red light is on, are not permitted to race in that event.
- Riders will line up on the designated marks assigned by starter.
- The starter or race director may disqualify or penalize a rider if his
method of start has
interfered with other riders.
- No assistance will be given to a rider on the start grid except when
mechanical difficulties
arise. One mechanic may help the rider with permission of the race director.
- If within 30 seconds the bike is not ready, it must be pushed off the
track as far as the pit
wall.
- The starter will look for raised hands (signifying a problem). If no
hands are seen the
starter will give the all clear signal to the flag person, and leave the
track.
- Racing will start within 5 seconds of the flag being raised.
- When the green flag starts to fall is the start of the race.
- The starter will watch for jumped starts (any rider moving before the
flag drops). The
race director, starter, or chief starter may call a false start penalty.
- Any bike that had been pushed off the starting grid to the pit wall
area must now be
moved into the pits.
- In the event of an accident causing a red flag, the riders and motorcycles
involved must
be inspected by a qualified person to determine if they are fit to re-enter
the race.
- In the event of a restart, bikes will be gridded according to their
position on the last lap
before the race was stopped.
- If a rider must leave the track or is slowing down from any problem,
they must signal
with left arm or leg their intention to leave the track before turning
in to pit area.
- The deliberate blocking of a faster machine is grounds for disqualification
at the
discretion of the race director.
- Any dangerous driving, bumping, crowding or unsportsmanlike conduct
on or around
the racetrack is grounds for disqualification at the discretion of the
race director.
- If a rider is forced to stop on or near the track, the first priority
is to move the bike to a
safe area where it will not obstruct/endanger other riders.
- A machine that is disabled before the finish line may be pushed over
the finish line by the
rider only (without assistance).
- The race is complete when the first bike has completed the required
number of laps and
the checkered flag has been waved.
GENERAL RULES:
- NO ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED AT RACETRACK.
- NO CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS ALLOWED IN PITS.
- PIT AREAS ARE CAUTION ZONES. NO SPEEDING OR STUNTS.
- ALL PERSONELL ENTERING PITS MUST SIGN WAIVER.
- RACE DIRECTOR HAS AUTHORITY TO EJECT ANY PERSON FROM THE PIT AREA, STAGING
AREA OR RACETRICK.
- VULGARITY, DEROGATORY OR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE MAY RESULT IN EJECTION FROM
RACETRACK AREA.
- ALL MOTORCYCLES WILL HAVE THEIR NUMBERS DISPLAYED PROMINENTLY ON BOTH
SIDES AND FRONT OF MOTORCYCLE. (BLACK NUMBERS ON WHITE BACKGROUND
PREFERRED).
- ALL PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN RACING MUST BE PROFESSIONAL IN CONDUCT AND
APPEARANCE. PIT CREW MEMBERS MUST WEAR WHITE PANTS OR TEAM COLOURS.
